Resources Easter People
Resource Preview Help the children understand the sequence of events in the Easter story by getting them to investigate some of the characters connected to different events in the lead up to Easter. The class can explore how and why the disciples were selected to follow Jesus. The children can discuss how some people were affected by the actions of Jesus' miracles. They can explain the importance of certain characters in helping to change what happened to Jesus when he came to Jerusalem.

Working in drama, the class can role-play some of the different people who acted in a crucial role such as when Judas betrayed Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane or how different people reacted when they witnessed Jesus carrying the cross. The children can practise writing recounts as eye-witnesses to explain what happened to Jesus or compose newspaper stories to report some of the main events. The class can practise writing play scripts to illustrate important scenes from the Easter story.

Resource Preview Jesus' Friends
Teaching activities to get the children to discuss some of the stories of Jesus' life about his followers and friends. The children can suggest some of the dialogue to use in role-plays for different parts of the story.

Religious Education lesson plan to help the children discuss the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem and the meaning of religious symbols. The class can explore how different groups of people reacted to the arrival of Jesus. .

English activity to help the children select powerful synonyms to describe nouns in sentences about an event in the Easter story. The class can explore how each of the disciples acted during the Last Supper.

English lesson plan to help the children use correct punctuation to write dialogue for characters in the Easter story. The class discuss how different characters responded to each event in the Easter story.

English activity to help the children write and perform a play script to illustrate one of the main events in the Easter story. The class can select and use dialogue to show the responses of different characters to the events in the Easter story.
